Honor Lions Share Vision of Service and Need with Lake Ann
October 9, 1982

You see in the beautiful, self less spirit of Lionism, the Benzie-Eastern (now named Honor Lions) shared its seasoned and experienced 20-year vision of service by actually offering 15 of its members toward the development of a brand new Lions Club in nearby Lake Ann.

The evening of October 9, 1982 had to be a most special one for the Benzie-Eastern delegation as the proudly participated in the official sponsorship and chartering of the neighboring Lake Ann Club situated just 17 miles down the road.

According to Past District Governor Ken Burrows, a Benzie-Eastern Lion, "The event naturally creates some mixed emotions. We are disappointed to lose some key Lions—actually half of our membership—but we are also pleased to know that we are enabling a new group of men to lend a helping hand where needed right in their own community of Lake Ann."

Not even satisfied with giving up "bodies" the Benzie-Eastern members even voted to present $700 or half of their service treasure—to the new group. And…they even kicked in their "chuck-wagon" to help get the Lake Ann delegation off to a running start in their community.
